The TLIC0011 – Conduct heavy vehicle recovery operations unit provides the skills and knowledge required to safely recover immobilised, damaged, or bogged heavy vehicles, using approved recovery equipment, safety procedures, and site risk controls.
This nationally recognised unit is ideal for workers in roadside recovery, transport support, logistics, fleet maintenance, civil construction, or tow and salvage operations. It covers planning the recovery, applying safe rigging practices, and using recovery tools and techniques for on-road and off-road environments.
Training is delivered face-to-face and includes hands-on recovery scenarios using compliant equipment. Customised delivery is available onsite for fleet operators or heavy vehicle support crews across WA.
This course is aligned with heavy recovery safety procedures, including load rating considerations, site hazard controls, and environmental risk management.

Upon successful completion of the TLIC0011 – Conduct heavy vehicle recovery operations, participants will achieve a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment issued by KI Training and Assessing.

Licence Requirements: A current HR licence or above is recommended (or required by employer), but not required for training.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): To enter our workshop, participants are required to wear steel-capped boots, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Hardhats can be provided if you can not bring your own.
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements: Participants must possess adequate LLN skills to interpret safety procedures and documentation. Completion of the LLN assessment is required prior to confirmation of the booking.
